Importing products

Import products from any price list, spreadsheet or CSV

Import products on the products page is the single way in. It opens on AI import, which reads a price list in whatever shape it arrives and builds the products for you: their pricing models, units, billing periods and price bands.

Drop a file on the drop area, or choose one, and Estii starts the import. Progress shows on the products page, and the products land when it finishes.

What gets imported

  • A product the library does not hold yet is added.
  • A product the library already holds is matched by its external ID where the file has one, and by name otherwise. Only what the file states is updated.
  • A price column updates prices and a cost column updates costs. Where a file has costs only, Estii works out the price from your margin, and a price you set by hand is left as it is.
  • A product priced in its own currency keeps that currency.
  • Where the file's price bands start and end at different quantities from the product's, the file's bands replace them. The import summary names each product this happened to.

When the import finishes, its summary says how many products were added, updated and left unchanged.

Uploading manually

If you would rather use Estii's own CSV format, follow Upload manually below the drop area. The same dialog switches to the template importer, where you can download the template and upload a completed file. Import with AI takes you back.

See Product CSV format for the columns the template uses.
