Deal templates to help streamline the creation of new proposals. Deal owners for tracking who is responsible for each deal

Creating and editing deal structures can be time-consuming and cumbersome, especially for commonly used templates. To address this issue, we are excited to announce the introduction of deal templates, which streamline the process of creating and editing commonly used deal structures.

Additionally, we are introducing deal owners, which help to track who is responsible for each deal.

Deal templates

This release introduces a commonly requested feature - deal templates.

With deal templates, you can easily create and edit templates for commonly used deal structures. This reduces the time and effort required to create new proposals, and helps standardise and streamline the proposal creation process.

Here's how to use deal templates:

  • To create a new deal template, select the "Save as Templateā€¦" option from the deal menu. You can then edit the contents just like a normal deal.
  • Once the deal template is saved, you can access it easily from the templates tab on the pipeline and make any necessary updates or modifications as needed.
  • To use a deal template, create a new deal, and select one from the list.

Deal owners

Deal owners make it easier to track who is responsible for each deal. When creating a new deal, the current user is automatically set as the default deal owner. However, the deal owner can also be edited from the deal settings.

The deal owner is now the default contact on the "thank you" slide of proposals. You have the option to edit the primary contact or hide it entirely from the proposal page.

Other

We've made a few minor improvements, including:

  • Adding a Last Updated column to the deal pipeline
  • Adding a Last Updated field to the deal header
  • Allowing Variable Preview to switch between phase duration (default) and maximum variable duration
  • Restricting the ability to duplicate deals to users with a manager role or higher
  • The deal export feature has been improved by adding resource and stream name columns on the roles, schedules, and stats tabs
  • The approval dialog will no longer display an incorrect price for a custom deal currency
  • Page numbers can be hidden from proposals (via proposal settings)
  • Proposals now switch to hourly rates on schedule slides when space work unit is hourly
